udskænkning i Burnley & omegn

A great selection of pubs, bars and clubs awaits you in Burnley. The biggest decision is where to try first.

PUBBER I Burnley & OMEGN

Our favourite town centre pub in Burnley is The Boot Inn on St. James’s Street. Housed in a Grade II listed building, it’s a historic pub that is now part of the popular Wetherspoons pub chain. If you’ve ever been in a ‘Spoons’ before, you’ll know to expect very reasonably priced food and drinks with plenty to choose from. There’s a nice outdoor seating area and lots of big windows, which give the pub a light and airy feel.

Two of the best pubs in the area are situated in the pleasant village of Fence around four miles and a 15-minute drive from our Burnley hotel. We’ve already mentioned how good the food is at The Sparrowhawk in our guide on places to eat in Burnley, but this time we’d like to talk about their drink selection. They’ve received the Casque Marque Award for their selection of six cask ales, and they also offer an extensive wine list, lots of gins and other spirits and a strong selection of bottled and draught lagers.

Another brilliant gastropub in Fence is The White Swan. The food is a bit more expensive here but it is exceptional. They have a Michelin star and two AA Rosettes to prove that. But even if you aren’t eating here, we strongly recommend that you nip in for a drink. They serve Timothy Taylor’s award-winning ales and a great selection of wine and spirits in a beautiful bar area separate from the dining room.

The award for the pub with the best views in Burnley goes to the Kettledrum Inn. It’s a lovely countryside pub that blends modern and traditional furniture brilliantly and serves a serious selection of ales, beers, wines and spirits. The pièce de résistance, however, is the view of the Lancashire countryside from the outdoor seating area. With dry stone walls and rolling hills, you really could put it on a postcard.

NATKLUBBER I Burnley & OMEGN

Burnley is a big night out for its residents and those of the smaller towns and villages that surround it. We’ve picked out the three most popular clubs in the area for late-night dancing and drinking, which can all be found on the bustling Hammerton Street in the town centre.

MACs Burnley is a local institution in Burnley. It’s the place to come for cheap drinks, massive dance hits and busy dancefloors. It’s next door to Proj3kt, which offers much of the same with a 4 a.m. closing time on Saturday and very cheap drink deals. Mode is the third and final suggestion for a club night in Burnley. Open late on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, it welcomes big-name DJs to its stage for some huge nights. Check out the website to see who will be spinning the decks when you visit.

BARER I Burnley & OMEGN

Wine lovers will no doubt get on board with The Corkhouse on Whittam Street in the town centre. It’s a bar, restaurant and wine shop that offers up an enviable selection of wines at fantastic prices and some seriously good meat and cheese platters. If you don’t fancy a glass of wine, they also have lots of cocktails and gin and tonics to choose from.

Smackwater Jacks Bar on Ormerod Street is a bustling bar that stays open (and busy) until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. They have two rooms blasting out indie tunes and cheesy pop bangers and lots of drink deals. It gets busy on weekends, so don’t come here if you fancy a quiet drink.
